 | What is a Prosthodontist?
Prosthodontists are dental specialists in the restoration and replacement of teeth.
After completing four years of dental school, prosthodontists receive three years
of specialized training in an American Dental Association (ADA) accredited graduate
education program. After completing this advance training a prosthodontist must pass
a rigorous group of examinations in order to achieve the status of a Board Certified
Prosthodontist. Prosthodontics is one of the eight dental specialties recognized by
the ADA.
Rigorous training and experience provide prosthodontists with a special understanding of
the dynamics of the smile, the preservation of a healthy mouth, and the creation of tooth
replacements. Serving as the "architect" of a dental treatment plan,
prosthodontists collaborate with general dentists, specialists and other health
professionals to develop solutions to your dental concerns.
Dr. Jack Kabcenell and Dr. Brian Kabcenell are both Board Certified Prosthodontists.

 | What is IV Sedation?
Intravenous (IV) sedation is the technique of utilizing sedative agents to minimize
anxieties surrounding dental care. These medications are administered in amounts
specific to the individual patient's needs while state of the art equipment monitors their
status. IV sedation typically induces a "sleep-like" state, which removes
the anxiety that prevents many patients from seeking and receiving proper oral care.
Many patients opt for IV sedation to permit greater comfort during long dental
appointments.
Administration of IV sedation requires special training and certification by the New York
State Department of Education. Dr. Kirchmann is certified to administer IV sedation.
